UK’s Largest-Ever Pro-Palestine March Defies Mainstream Silence On Gaza Genocide

As global leaders turn away from the escalating Gaza tragedy, voices worldwide are rising in condemnation of Israel's violent occupation of Palestine. Amidst widespread appeals for a ceasefire in Palestine, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has not only rebuffed support for this urgent plea but also dismissed Tory MP Paul Bristow for breaking "collective responsibility" by endorsing the notion. Likewise, the leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer, faces considerable criticism for rejecting a ceasefire, leading to the resignation of frontbench Labour MP Imran Hussain after over eight years of service.
In the wake of her dismissal as the UK Home Secretary today, Suella Braverman consistently labeled pro-Palestinian marches, advocating for a ceasefire, as "hate marches," characterizing the attendees as "mobs."
Her rhetoric has fueled a divisive atmosphere among the British populace, with many asserting that she has played a role in the sevenfold increase in Islamophobia across the UK since October.
Both Braverman and Sunak vehemently opposed a pro-Palestine march on Armistice Day, with Braverman escalating tensions by accusing the Metropolitan Police of favoring left-wing protestors, leading to her dismissal from parliament today.
Sunak also asserted that a rally on this day would be "disrespectful," an ironic statement given that Armistice literally means ceasefire – precisely what the British public is advocating for in Palestine.
