20-year-old Singaporean detained under ISA for planning to kill Jews at local synagogue: Shanmugam

Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam on Wednesday (Mar 10) spoke about the detention of a self-radicalised 20-year-old, Amirull Ali, under the Internal Security Act (ISA): “Let’s be clear. He’s not being detained because he has sympathised with the Palestinian cause. He’s being detained because he wanted to kill innocent people in Singapore to show his support for the Palestinians.”

Amirull, a former full-time national serviceman, planned to carry out a knife attack against Jews at the Maghain Aboth Synagogue at Waterloo Street, according to investigations. READ: https://cna.asia/30uQ5Z2
