STORY-LINE:
Transgender demonstrators held a protest in Pakistan on Tuesday to show their solidarity with the Palestinians.
The protesters in Islamabad chanted against Israel and held up signs to show support to the Palestinians.
The protest comes after an 11-day war between Israel and Gaza's militant Hamas rulers.
The war killed more than 250 people, mostly Palestinians, and caused widespread destruction in the impoverished coastal territory.
In the fighting, Israel unleashed hundreds of airstrikes against militant targets in Gaza, while Hamas and other militants fired more than 4,000 rockets toward Israel.
The fighting began on May 10, when Hamas militants in Gaza fired long-range rockets toward Jerusalem.
The barrage came after days of clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Heavy-handed police tactics at the compound and the threatened eviction of dozens of Palestinian families by Jewish settlers had inflamed tensions.
