The Met Police will deploy 7,000 officers at this year's Notting Hill Carnival, weeks after riots shook the UK.

The Carnival, which started in the 1960s to unite London's immigrant communities, is now the UK’s biggest celebration of Caribbean culture, with around a million people expected to attend.

Organisers say it remains a vital symbol of inclusion and social cohesion and expect a massive street party with vibrant costumes, dancing, and music.

Cristo speaks with former met police detective Mike Neville.
