Anti-asylum protest: fifteen arrested after violent clashes in Merseyside

Fifteen people, including a teenager, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder after hundreds of far-right protestors clashed with police outside a Merseyside hotel where asylum seekers were being housed.

Witnesses said some in the crowd had thrown fireworks at officers and set fire to a police van, although no one was injured.
