In Part 2 of 2, you will hear, at minute 15:20 and 21:00, how Mackenzie King used the Canadian Navy to protect German U Boats and he gave them refuge in Canada.
JT is a fellow Canadian and his German-Canadian's family's political connections makes him one of a handful who know the story of just how much Adolf Hitler was supported by Canada's longest serving Prime Minister. This is a Truth and Justice for Germans Society video. William Lyon Mackenzie King had glowing proclamations about his meeting with Adolf Hitler on June 29, 1937. Mackenzie King, prime minister of Canada 1921–26, 1926–30 and 1935–48 was the dominant political figure in an era of major changes. He was leader of the Liberal Party from 1919 to 1948, and Prime Minister of Canada for almost 22 of those years. He steered Canada through industrialization, avoided the Great Depression and gave us debt free currency with the Bank of Canada in 1938. The British pushed him aside and forced Canada to fight for Britain against Germany. By the time he left office, Canada had achieved greater independence from Britain and a stronger international voice.
