When you think of the ‘Aliyah’, typically you assume it’s Jews from around the world heading for the Holy Land, better known as modern day Israel. Yet there is an older Jewish destination, located in a remote part of Eastern Russia which also has a story to tell. Join me for a visit to the capital Birobidzhan, to see the only other Jewish jurisdiction in the world, and for a fascinating insight into Soviet Jewery and how they fare in modern day Russia. Regardless of your religion, this is a journey with a difference, and it’s one worth hearing.
