Russia and Ukraine have reached out to the world’s largest Islamic organisation for support amid their ongoing war. Ukraine’s envoy met with the recently elected leader of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Yahya Staquf in Jakarta last week, as per reports. After the meeting, Staquf called the events in Ukraine a “war” and urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to “stop the war now”. Watch the video to find out why Russia and Ukraine courting the NU
