5.0 out of 5 stars Two dictators truly for the people: Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2022
Very enjoyable book satisfying both my urgings to learn of the early beginnings of the coming to power of Hitler and Mussolini..
Both men had similar aversion to meat, alcohol, loved children, animals. Hitlers coming to power was ever so complicated while Mussolini found himself asked to be in his position.

I Learned a few things that Mussolini banished the Mafia and Hitler personally was there to remove Rohm, who we later find in other books, was a rabid homosexual...The book without getting too bogged down showed that these two leaders, although slandered by the media had good intentions for rebuilding their countries, especially Hitler. I really enjoy such earlier books about Hitler and Mussolini without the slander and nonsense printed by the "victors" because these books seem to tell the truth and as in Hitlers case, he correctly lays the problems of Germany on the Communist and Bolsheviks which, as we find out now, consisted of mostly Jews who needed to be expelled from Germany which Hitler did in a humane way... Of course the war broke out and that all went to hell in a hand-basket ... because of the allies. Of course that story now is encumbered by rumor, misinformation and nonsense now as the story is told by Hitler haters ... I didn't even know the author of the book until I looked him up in a Google search. I kept saying to myself, who is this guy that has the ability to get so personal and close to Hitler and Mussolini and I find out he was a present-day journalist correspondent working for the Daily Mail (UK?). Hitler didn't want to take over the world he just wanted to make Germany great and fix what the Treaty of Versailles broke -- GETTING RID of those who ruined Germany during the filthy, morally decadent Weimar years ... and you know who that was, do some research... I really enjoyed the book.

P.S. This book was first published in 1937, with a second edition in 1938, at the height of the Czechoslovak Crisis. After the occupation of the Sudetenland, Ward Price turned against Hitler and Mussolini, and became one of their fiercest critics, causing him to be placed on the official arrest list should he ever fall into Nazi hands.
