‘I could not follow those orders’: Myanmar policeman in India after refusing to shoot protesters

In an interview with Reuters, Tha Peng, a Myanmar police officer, said he fled to India after disobeying orders to fire at anti-coup protesters. The 27-year-old said there is substantial support for the demonstrators within the police force. He was one of the first officers fleeing Myanmar to share eyewitness accounts with the media.
