The Brazilian Constitutionalist Revolution was a civil war in Brazil between July and October 1932. It pitted the forces of the Provisional Government dictatorship against revolutionaries from São Paulo and many other states. After facing severe defeats in all fronts, the revolutionaries entered peace talks in 27th September. São Paulo ceased hostilities in the 2nd October and surrendered all civilian and military control by the 6th.The last, more remote garrisons in Mato Grosso negotiated their surrender by the 25th.
It was the last major military conflict in Brazilian soil, and the first in South American history in which air power played a major role.
Aerial bombardments are marked by an explosion symbol, dogfights by an airplane symbol with the colour of the victorious party, and drops of propaganda leaflets by paper sheets. Olive green and white represent the Army and Navy aviation respecively (in service of the Provisional Government) and black represents the revolutionary air units.
The blockade of the port of Santos and the naval engagement of Itacoatiara in the Amazon River are also shown.
