Bereits viele hochranginge Künstler haben Andrew Lloyd Webbers Fassung von „Pie Jesu“ aufgenommen, Gregorian aber haben sich dem Klassiker nun mit einem ganz besonderen Ansatz gewidmet und Kontratenor Narcis als Gast mit an Bord geholt. Im Rahmen des neuen Albums „Pure Chants“ verleiht der erfolgreichste Chor der Welt dem Song einen puristischen gregorianischen Glanz und liefert damit den Soundtrack zum Weihnachtsfest.
Die Band hat dazu auch ein stimmungsvolles Video bereitgestellt, welches die feierliche Atmosphäre des Songs wunderbar in unsere winterliche Vorweihnachtszeit transportiert.
Das Album „PURE CHANTS“ ist genau das, was sein Name verspricht: Getreu dem Motto: "In der Ruhe liegt die Kraft", haben Gregorian die Hälfte der Lieder auf PURE CHANTS komplett ohne instrumentale Begleitung und die andere Hälfte weitgehend ohne instrumentale Begleitung aufgenommen und sich stattdessen voll und ganz auf die Kraft und Schönheit der menschlichen Stimme verlassen.

The album "PURE CHANTS" is exactly what its name promises: true to the motto: "In silence lies the power", Gregorian have recorded half of the songs on PURE CHANTS completely without instrumental accompaniment and the other half largely without instrumental accompaniment, relying instead entirely on the power and beauty of the human voice.
