Who or what was Moloch? Made popular by the Carthaginians and worshiped by the Canaanites, archeologists and biblical historians say that the Phoenicians exported the barbaric practice of human ritual sacrifice to this deity across the Mediterranean and maybe even into the Americas, long before it was discovered by the Spanish.

Some believe Moloch went under the name of #Baal and 2000 years ago worship of this ancient demonic deity was believed to have taken place in Palmyra, Syria. Could the replica of the Arch of Palmyra as well as a statue of the horned deity #Moloch in Rome, really be a celebration of a time when human sacrifices were practiced, or is it just a recognition of both the good and bad of our history? #ArchofPalmyra
