This episode covers the Ukrainian Famine of 1932-1933 which saw over roughly three million Ukrainians starve to death. This episode covers the process of collectivisation which helped to disrupt the harvests of the period which led to the collapse of grain yields. After this the Soviet Government did sweet nothing to alleviate the famine and even went so far as to deny its existence or dismiss it as nothing more than a capitalist-backed hunger strike.
