This is exemplary for the notorious Charlie recordings from WWII, when the nazi propaganda was trying to subvert the stamina of their enimies. In this case, Eddie Cantor's pretty song is abused to hold the US Jews collectively responsible for WWII ... These extremely rare records were made exclusively for shortwave broadcasting to Great Britain, USA and other adversary countries. Whether the lyrics may sound ridiculous or still offending for today's listeners, the Charlie records belong to the musically most accomplished swing recordings in the Third Reich. Vocalist was Karl Schwedler, the band personnel consisted of musicians of the Lutz Templin Dance Orchestra. However for various reasons, they were substituted quite frequently by others.
