Hitler Youth members prepare for take off in glider plane - Daily Mail

Incredible self-shot footage shows a daredevil pilot soaring hundreds of feet above German countryside, 76 years on from when Hitler Youth members would attempt to do the same. The pilot, using breathing apparatus, flies through the air before bringing down the glider with a textbook landing. Archive footage shows Hitler Youth members (inset, top right) attempting take-off in a glider in 1938, but the pilot looks less sturdy in the air as the aircraft wobbles around. Gliders were often used in pre-war Nazi Germany because of a ban on having an airforce under conditions of the Treaty of Versailles.
