After a drawn-out legal battle, in June Israel's Supreme Court upheld a lower court decision NOT to block the transfer to a right-wing Jewish group of lease rights to two hotels in the Old City belonging to the Greek Orthodox Church.

The decision dealt a final blow to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in its fight against the sale of leases for the two properties located near Jaffa Gate. Yet, the story is not over, as explained in this five-part series about the real estate battle in Jerusalem's Old City.
