No introduction is needed for this great American hero. This article appeared in the 1939 Readers Digest, and like his father before him, Charles was a great thinker, and practical man. Though not without his faults, he is a breed of man we are in dire need of today. I hope hearing his words will not spiral you downwards into nihilism, but instead uplift you and temper your convictions. We are of similar 'stuff', you and I, to be faced with the present times, yet still hold strong to higher idealism.
