A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Pueblo West Saturday that left a man seriously injured, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said.
The suspect was reportedly in a vehicle whose occupants got into a verbal dispute with the 29-year-old victim after dropping off a family member on W. Baldwyn Drive, near S. Del Norte Ave., the sheriff's office said.
The teen then reportedly fired two shots from the vehicle, both of which hit the victim.
The juvenile suspect was detained less than nine hours after the incident and charged with first-degree assault and illegal possession of a handgun.
Because he is a minor, the suspect has not been publicly identified.

The victim remained hospitalized in Colorado Springs on Monday, said Gayle Perez, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court. Arrests and charges are merely accusations by law enforcement until, and unless, a suspect is convicted of a crime.
