Residents in locked-down social housing apartment blocks are having their alcohol deliveries policed to limit the amount of drinks consumed.

Mission Australia's Common Ground Building in Camperdown is the latest building to be affected by the rules.

Residents says they are frustrated their alcohol deliveries are being searched before being given to them.

Under the rules, they can have six beers or pre-mixed drinks, one bottle of wine, or one 375ml bottle of spirits per day.

Excess alcohol is being confiscated.
