Mehdi Hasan is a razor-sharp interviewer, forensic, who knows his facts inside out. What's more, his progressive instincts accord with the sort of audience MSNBC should be cultivating. So what did they do? Cancel his show. It comes after his critical stance on Israel's Gaza offensive - when he put Israeli spokesperson Mark Regev on the spot.

This matters - as pro-Palestine voices are under attack.
