Boycot of Jewish shops: The National Socialist takeover

Adolf Goebbels

With de takeover of Hitler and his NSDAP in 1933, the discrimination of Jews begins. Of the first things they do is the boycot of Jewish shops. This means people do not buy stuff anymore in shops owned by Jewish people. Perhaps it doesn't sound like much yet, but it meant that it became harder for Jewish people to make a living in Germany and live there.

A boycot means that a group of people decides not to buy stuff from another group of people, because of some reason behind it. Not all boycots are of racist nature.
