Titles read: "GERMAN TROOPS march into AUSTRIA".
Austria.
M/S of German tanks crossing the German / Austrian border as people make the Nazi salute German officers unscrew the frontier barrier and carry it off, looking jubilant. Soldiers on horseback march across a long bridge and into Salzburg; brief shot of children making the Nazi salute. Tanks travel through the city streets; Adolf Hitler (the Fuhrer) stands in an open car; people make the Nazi salute as he goes by.
Several brief shots of crowds in the city making the salute; Nazi swastika flags hanging from buildings; soldiers marching along the streets. The Austrian leader, Dr Seyss-Inquart, stands on a balcony of the Chancellery in Vienna and makes the salute. Brief L/Ss of Hitler standing on a balcony at night in a spotlight.
Visuals cut out at 01:43:27; soundtrack continues. The second half of the story is out of synch with commentary, probably due to some duplicate shots and the reappearance of the title card halfway through.
