Something scary I thought I’d share: the last time I was in LAX airport, returning from a Chilean Airlines flight back home, it was the end of 2015, and a more dystopian cattle call than I could imagine…everyone in the arrivals area from all flights had to be stopped at all these machines that took our photos. It was at least four times. I later tried to look up this stuff online, and it seemed that it was collecting that pesky biometric data from passengers. So, just a warning to anyone who has never been to LAX airport yet.
I also recently went through a contract from an escrow company for a condo that my husband wanted to buy, and aside from all the other bullshit excessive regulations, one clause brought up the right of some entity to collect biometric data, including facial recognition, fingerprints, iris scans and even retinal scans!
Great thing I didn’t sign it. I’m just trying to be co-owner of a property, not to be treated like a criminal! And I only allow my retinas to be scanned by eye doctors during my exam. Geez. Yep, this was for some HOA property in Commiefornia.
