A muslim imam explains the secret behind the Gharqad Tree also known as the Devilâ€™s Shrub. There is a hadith that says, â€œYou will fight against the Jews and you will kill them until even a stone would say: Come here, O Muslim, there is a Jew, so kill him. But the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.â€ This narration is describing a specific miraculous event which will occur near the end of time. There will be a nation that will approve the aggression of Jews, that will support and protect them and that will fight for them. That nation was described as â€œgharqad tree.â€ The talking of the stone and tree in the hadith is a metaphor for the common conscience, that is, the common voice of the people of the world. In the Bible the people who hide behind the Boxthorn (Gharqad) tree are considered wicked tyrants.
