Field Marshal Mannerheim's speech to the Swedish volunteers in the Winter War after the Moscow Peace Treaty in 1940. Around 15 thousand Swedes volunteered to fight the Soviet Union alongside Finland in the Winter War. In addition the Swedish state sent two billion crowns, 50 million rounds of small arms ammunition, 900 thousand small arms, three hundred field guns with 300 thousand shells, Three hundred seamines, five hundred depth charges, five hundred ground vehicles, and 26 aircraft. Sweden also provided uniforms and medicine and took care of Finnish war refugees. Many Swedish officers who volunteered to fight in the Winter War had already participated in the Finnish Civil War alongside the White Army and was highly decorated and experienced. Many Swedes volunteered again after the Winter War and helped Finland to fight the Soviets during the Continuation War.
