Various shots Petain drives to Notre Dame for Mass with Pierre Laval. Petain is greeted by Cardinal Suhard. Various shots of ceremony and congregation, Paris 1943. Various shots Petain arrives at Monteire to greet and shake hands with Adolf Hitler and other German officers (sometime during World War 2). Various shots Petain's trial at the Palace of Justice, Paris. Shots of Palace, the heated scenes during the trial (people shouting and arguing) and Petain listening with hand cupped to his ear, 1945.



NB: according to dope sheet item was originally longer, including shots of French infantry in action during WW1, Petain with King Alphonse XIII of Spain in trenches and inspecting the defences of Verdun during WW1 and Petain crossing the Spanish border to take up position of Ambassador for France in March 1939. These shots are missing - either decomposed or used in another item.
