A former actor and impersonator, Don Maxwell, takes a position of an assistant to a scientist, Dr. Meirschultz, who finds a formula for an elixir, which can bring people back from dead. The mad scientist suggests that Maxwell commits suicide, so that Dr. Meirschultz can revive him. Maxwell however kills the scientist, and then uses props to impersonate him. To avoid suspicion, he pursues the scientists experiments, becoming mad himself.
