Elijah the Prophet & the end times

Elijah the Prophet of God his life and mininstry and his return before the time of Christ's return as told from the Bible. Jesus liken the ministry of John the Baptist to Elijah as pertaining to the first advent of Jesus.

The false prophet of the antichrist beast shall likely claim to be Elijah the prophet to herald in the reign of the beast. There are many similarities between what Elijah and the false prophet will do and peform miracles.

Elijah the prophet shall likely be one of the two witnesses who come to Jerusalem to confront the false prophet and the Beast of Revelation. These are the events leading to the end of this time or age and the return of Christ in glory.

Malachi 4:5 - Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Amos 1:14 - But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

Ezekiel 1:4 - And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

2 Kings 2:11 - And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Luke 12:49 - I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? that is a powerful verse.

Joel 2:30 - And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

Zecheriah 13:9 - And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Malachi 3:2 - But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

Matthew 3:11 - I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

1 Cor 3:13 - Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

1 Cor 3:15 - If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Hebrews 12:29 - For our God is a consuming fire.

1 Peter 1:7 - That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
