UN chief says Hamas terror attack did not happen 'in a vacuum' as Israel calls for resignation

The secretary-general of the United Nations said that whilst the terror attack by Hamas against Israel was "horrifying", it did not "happen in a vacuum".
The UN chief made the comments in a condemnation of Israeli policy towards Gaza over many decades.
In response, Israel's ambassador called for Mr Guterres's resignation and announced that the country would begin to deny visas to UN officials.
