The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Sivaprasad who is a former actor is famously known to make such appearances donning costumes of famous characters.

Sivaprasad's fellow party member and parliamentarian, who was also a part of the protests, also called Modi "false".

Members of TDP, who were a part of coalition with the Modi government after the 2014 general elections, pulled back their support of Modi after repeated failed requests of giving special status to Andhra Pradesh state.
