Danny Casolaro was an American freelance journalist who was investigating what he called "the scandal of the century" (the octopus). He told those close to him that he was getting ready to wrap up the investigation and "bring home the head of the octopus". Days later he was found dead in the bathtub of his hotel room in Martinsburg, West Virginia, from an apparent suicide. Several of his friends and family members refuse to believe that Danny would have committed suicide.
