Much has been made to determine whether or not antisemitism played a role in the trial of Leo Frank. Some say that Georgia was not antimsemitic and accepted the well-to-do rich Jewish inhabitants of the community. Others debate that Leo Frank was railroaded because he was Jewish. Tom Watson, a Populist political figure and publisher is obviously of the former camp, and rails against tactics used by Jewish money to get him exonerated. As the reader, you should use critical thinking to decide if you accept his evidence and agree with the ruling of the Supreme Court of the United States that Leo Frank was guilty and the original ruling should be upheld or believe that antisemitism (which is obvious in his article) was so pervasive that an innocent man was lynched.
