In Prague’s Josefstadt lies the Golem, in Yiddish: Goylem, which is an artificially created dumb servant, a “goy made of lehm (mud)”, originally “brought to life” by Rabbi Yehuda Löw in the 16th century.

MET and EMET - Spell the words
The word EMET ("truth" in Hebrew) was written on his forehead. To turn it off, the first E was erased, leaving the word MET ("dead"). The rabbi erased the E because the Golem killed an innocent: when the E disappeared, the monster turned into sand, and the sand covered the rabbi who was drowning. It should be clarified that what is deleted is not an E, because it is written in Hebrew. The word EMET is written with three letters אמת (because written Hebrew omits vowels. In the case of EMET: an ALEF that is like an ax, a MEM and a TAF) and the word MET, with two. I make this clarification because obviously the whole matter of the Golem, by time and place, is related to Kabbalah, which is based on the mystical knowledge of the numerological meaning of Hebrew words.

Emet אמת : The first letter, Aleph (on the right), is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet while the final letter, Tav (on the left), is the last letter of the alphabet. The middle letter, Mehm, is the middle letter of the alphabet. Thus, emet is symbolically the beginning, middle, and end of all things. According to the numerological system known as Gematria, the total of the word is 441. If you add the digits together you get 9. Nine is interesting because if you multiply any number by nine and add the digits of the result until you get just one digit, that digit is always 9, implying that 9 is the truth behind numbers.

To take away the life from the Golem, Rabbi Lowe erases the first letter of emet forming the word met which means “dead.”


GOLEM: the goy (cattle) is made of lehm (mud), a useful idiot like the general masses (theodisk, tysk, tedesco, teuto, teuton, tuatha, (i)diot, douch, deutsch), dumb and numb (nemec, niemcy, arab: ajan) like the Germans (germs) or general public (all men = Allemand, Alman, Alemannen).
